The Asian Institute of Transport Development (AITD), an independent, not-for-profit organization with Special Consultative Status granted by the United Nations, invites applications for the position of AI/Data Science Expert. AITD is engaged in policy research, capacity building, and regional cooperation in the infrastructure sector with a focus on transport, trade, and logistics.

The Institute is looking for a Research Analyst who will play a key role in supporting the research and analysis that the institute conducts. He/She will work closely on topics related to transport, logistics and sustainable development. The job involves research and data analysis, co-ordination/management, editing and writing. There is scope to work on special projects as well.

We are looking for an intellectually curious and exceptionally organised self-starter who is passionate about matters relating to transport and logistics sector and will fit in with a talented group of analysts based across the world.

Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct economic research and quantitative analysis related to transport, trade, and logistics. Perform statistical and econometric analysis using relevant datasets
• Prepare analytical reports, policy briefs, and academic publications
• Support interdisciplinary research initiatives and stakeholder engagements
• An ability to write incisively, while meeting tight deadlines

Essential Qualifications and Skills:
• Advanced degree in Economics, Statistics, Public Policy, Urban Planning, Data Science and/or Econometrics
• Proficiency in data analysis software such as SPSS, STATA, R, and/or Python
• Excellent research, analytical, and writing skills
• Prior work in infrastructure or development policy contexts will be advantageous
• Exceptional written and spoken English
• Superior organisation and self-management abilities; this role requires juggling multiple tasks at once, and co-ordinating with colleagues
• Passion for research
