Project Name: City Climate AllianceProject Description:
Based out of the National Institute of Urban Affairs (NIUA), the City Climate Alliance is seeking a Research + Design Intern with a background in Urban Design or Urban Planning. As the project is young, there is a lot of opportunity to collaborate, learn and ideate, as well as interact with many alliance partners. Potential candidates should be interested in research and publications under the urban, climate and gender lens. Proficiency in software like InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop is a must. Designing infographics is an additional asset.
Internship Description:
Responsibilities:
Design thinking for publications and other modes of presentation
Ideating on new projects in the pipeline
Design collaterals for partnering events
Creating databases and repositories for the alliance
Skills, Qualifications & Experience:
- Experience: 0-3 years
- Qualification: preferably Urban Design or any other design education equipped with technical knowledge of climate action and urban development
- Software knowledge: InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Canva, Microsoft Office, and Rhino

Communication + Design Intern
Project Name: City Climate Alliance
Project Description:
Based out of the National Institute of Urban Affairs (NIUA), the City Climate Alliance is seeking a Communications Intern who comes from courses related to mass media and journalism with an understanding of content creation and handling new media (social media and web content platforms). Potential candidates should be interested in producing presentation materials, editing blogs, and developing multimedia communication content and output. They should have some previous knowledge or experience in the urban sector. Creating videos and infographics is an additional asset. As the project is young, there is a lot of opportunity to collaborate, learn and ideate, as well as interact with many alliance partners.
Internship Description:
Responsibilities:
Handling social media platforms for the alliance
Engaging youth and city officials through different modes
Ideation and creation of content and branding
Supporting virtual dialogues with partnering agencies
Strong writing and narrative-building skills
Creatively covering events under G20 and other large programs for the alliance
Coordination and collaboration with internal and external partners
Skills, Qualifications & Experience:
- Experience: 0-3 years
- Qualification: courses related to mass media, journalism and design with an understanding and knowledge of climate action and urban development
- Software knowledge: Photoshop, Canva, Microsoft Office. Working knowledge of Premier Pro is an additional asset.
