Job description:
CiSTUP- Internship Position in CAD Draftsman
The Centre for infrastructure, Sustainable Transportation and Urban Planning (CiSTUP) at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) invites applications for an internship position in CAD Draftsman position to support our ongoing projects. The selected candidate will be responsible for preparing detailed highway and infrastructure drawings using Auto CAD & Civil 3D software, collaborating with project engineers to produce accurate plans, sections, and details for road and transportation projects, and ensuring that all drawings comply with relevant standards and specifications. Candidate should have the following qualifications:
General:
⚡The stipend for students with/or pursuing a bachelor’s degree is Rs. 15,000 a month, and for those with/or pursuing a master’s degree is Rs. 20,000 a month. An internship certificate will be provided upon successful completion of the program.
⚡Selected candidates will have to arrange their accommodation.
⚡Candidates are expected to work 40 hours per week and immediate joining will give a preference.
⚡Preference will be given to candidates who can join immediately and for a longer duration of time.
⚡Applicants can apply for one or multiple projects mentioned below.
⚡All internship positions are in-person only.
⚡Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
⚡Final year master students are encouraged to apply and explore the opportunities in collaborative thesis work.
Eligibility:
⚡ Education: Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, architecture, and urban planning
⚡Experience: Minimum 0-1 years of experience in highway CAD drafting.
⚡Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D software is essential, Knowledge on estimation is added advantage.
⚡ Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
⚡ Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of road safety principles, traffic management, and familiarity with relevant IRC codes is an added advantage.
⚡ Language Proficiency: Excellent oral and written communication skills in English. Knowledge in Kannada is an added advantage.
