Job Highlight:

WRI India is seeking a junior program associate for the Sustainable Cities and Transport Program to support our work on decarbonizing freight. The candidate will support an ongoing project through project co-ordination activities and technical research. This role offers an excellent opportunity to learn project management, engage in impactful research, and gain exposure to cutting-edge initiatives in sustainable transport.

What You will do:

Technical Research Activities (50%)

·       Conduct in-depth research on freight decarbonization, electric medium and heavy-duty trucks (e-MHDTs), charging infrastructure, and financing strategies.

·       Analyze diverse datasets related to freight operations, vehicle performance, infrastructure readiness, and feasibility of electrification to generate actionable insights.

·       Design and implement data collection instruments (e.g., surveys, interviews), including on-ground execution and identification of alternate data sources.

·       Develop visually compelling and content-rich slide decks, reports, briefs, and technical notes to effectively communicate research findings.

·       Engage with industry partners and stakeholders to map priorities, gather inputs, and contribute to collaborative knowledge-building.

·       Assist in the creation of various project collaterals, including policy notes, presentations, and communication material.

Project Coordination & Data Management (50%)

·       Anchor day-to-day project coordination activities including scheduling meetings, sending reminders, following up with team members, and maintaining action trackers.

·       Assist in preparing agendas, taking meeting minutes, and following up on action items for both internal and external project meetings.

·       Liaise with project teams and cross-functional departments to gather updates and support reporting requirements for various stakeholders.

·       Collect and analyze project-related data and support the creation of presentations, dashboards, and visualizations for reporting, knowledge sharing, and decision-making.

·       Support documentation and coordination for internal and external meetings, workshops, and stakeholder consultations.

What you will need:

·       Degree in transport planning, transport engineering, urban planning, public policy or related field.

·       0-2 years of full-time work experience with demonstrated involvement in program coordination and communication, data management, monitoring, evaluation and learning, or related subject areas.

·       Proficiency in quantitative and qualitative research is important.

·       Proficiency in MS Office is a must.

·       Ability to generate high-quality research and good writing skills are essential.

·       Ability to work with multiple stakeholders.

·       Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

·       Prior work experience or understanding of freight or electric mobility is preferable.

·       Ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner, think creatively, and work efficiently under high pressure.

Potential Salary and Benefits: INR 7,50,000 to 9,40,000 Per Annum

Salary shall be commensurate with experience and skills. WRI offers a generous and comprehensive benefits package.
