Position Overview
As the Senior Associate, Design, you will support the WRI India Communications team. The position requires someone who is creative, a strong visual artist, meticulous and enthusiastic. An interest in environmental issues, the social sector and/or international development is highly desirable. The work will entail ideating concepts and creating the designs that are informative and innovative. The position also requires you to familiarize yourself with WRI India’s design principles, brand guidelines, product templates and be the guardian of the visual brand by undertaking final quality checks for all designs produced in WRI India.
How your day will unfold:
- Interpret and apply WRI India’s brand guidelines effectively to execute design projects.
- Work with the design manager to establish, monitor, and uphold supervision of the branding strategy for WRI India across all communication.
- Design various communication materials for events and workshops, including backdrops, standees, posters, booklets, leaflets, books, calendars, invitation cards, and merchandise.
- Work with the design manager to develop and execute creative ways to translate research and policy recommendations into compelling storylines, including multimedia online content such as videos, photos, and infographics.
- Create designs to deliver communications material such as – newsletters, reports, infographics, data visualization, collaterals, presentations, brochures, flyers, posters, and collaterals for digital platforms.
- Coordinate with vendors to create impactful social media graphics, infographics, engaging PowerPoint presentations, and video graphics.
- Develop customized Canva templates for different programs in alignment with WRI India’s brand guidelines.
Qualification and Requirements we seek:
- Master’s Degree/bachelor’s degree in design/communication design with relevant experience of minimum 4-7 years.
- Candidates with experience working with research organizations / think-tanks.
- Excellent knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Adobe InDesign is a mandate. Strong graphic design skills include proficiency in all standard design software, including presentation applications such as PowerPoint, among others.
- Experience in supervising printers will be desirable.
- Additional skills in basic video editing, photo documentation, data visualization and template-based software (such as Canva) will be considered.
- Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time.
- Strong communication skills, including written and oral communications.
- Ability to work in a team and coordinate with multiple team members.
- Ability to coordinate with and oversee the work of multiple vendors / freelancers at any given time.
- An ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet strict deadlines.
Salary and Benefits: INR 11,00,000-13,00,000
Salary shall be commensurate with experience and skills. WRI offers a generous and comprehensive benefits package.
Duration: 1 year (Extendable based on performance and project requirements)
